Every state has its bucket list. See this, do that. And Montana’s is especially long. Montana is so large, there is so much to see and do. But at the top of the list of those things every person should see and do in Montana, whether you are a resident of the state or not, I would place the world famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale. Otherwise known as Cowboy Mardi Gras, this annual event is an amazing western spectacle that everyone should experience at least once in their life. And it takes place this weekend in Miles City, Montana, kicking off what is sure to be a great summer season in the Big Sky State.

If you are into festival, horses, down home revelry, music and good cheer, this is the one event you should have on your calendar. I had the good fortune of photographing it, and I can’t adequately describe how amazing it is. Here are just a few photos I have taken in the past. I won’t be able to go this year, but if you do, have a bottle of Moose Drool on me.
